How to Get Onix in Pokemon Pokopia

Onix is one of the most important early progression Pokemon in Pokopia because it brings Bulldoze and Crush. Getting it requires finishing the Yawn Up A Storm questline in the Withered Wastelands.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Find the trapped Onix behind hardened clay northwest of the Pokemon Center.
2. Talk to Professor Tangrowth to learn the clay can only be softened by rain.
3. Build Seaside Tall Grass to attract Slowpoke.
4. Guide Slowpoke back toward the Pokemon Center area.
5. Raise regional humidity by watering, planting, opening water sources, and building water features.
6. Build the Rain Dance Site habitat.
7. Bring Slowpoke there and use Yawn to trigger the first rain.
8. Progress the questline until Kyogre triggers the second, stronger rain.
9. Return to the cave and break the softened clay barrier.
10. Build Smooth Tall Grass to officially befriend Onix.
