MechanicsProgression

The 3D Printer is one of the most useful progression tools in Pokemon Pokopia. It lets you duplicate many placeable items by photographing them, then spending Pokemetal to print copies. Once unlocked, it cuts down the grind for shared habitat furniture, repeated decor, and utility stations.

How to Unlock the 3D Printer

  1. Reach Environment Level 3 in any region.
  2. Rebuild the Pokemon Center.
  3. The 3D Printer becomes available inside the rebuilt center.

How to Use It

  1. Walk up to a placed item and take a photo.
  2. Visit the 3D Printer in the Pokemon Center.
  3. Select the photographed item from your catalog.
  4. Pay the Pokemetal cost to print a copy.

Best Items to Copy

  • Sprinkler: 4 Pokemetal. Automates watering for crops and berry trees.
  • Berry Tree: 1 Rare Pokemetal. Produces berries passively over time.
  • Streetlight: 2 Pokemetal. Useful for illuminated habitats and expensive to craft repeatedly.
  • Campfire: 2 Pokemetal. Common requirement for fire-themed habitats.
  • Storage Box: 2 Pokemetal. Extra storage is always valuable near crafting stations.
  • Workbench: 3 Pokemetal. Portable workbenches speed up region expansion.

What Cannot Be Copied

  • Soil and terrain blocks like dirt, sand, or grass tiles.
  • Ore deposits and raw resource nodes.
  • Raw berries. You can copy berry trees, not the fruit itself.
  • Already-processed paint materials.
  • Quest-specific key items.

Multiplayer Photograph Trick

If you visit another player's island in multiplayer, you can photograph useful items they already own. That photo goes into your own catalog, and you can print copies back on your island even if you have not crafted the item yourself yet.

This is especially strong for late-game furniture, rare decor, and utility pieces you want in bulk.

Tips

  • Pokemetal usually comes from daily challenges, Dream Islands, and recycling loops.
  • Photograph every unique item you see, even if you do not need it immediately.
  • Painted items can be copied in their painted state.
  • See the Berry Guide for a strong early 3D Printer use case.
